FIA GT2 EK 2010, ditjes en datjes.....
Voor Europa moet het FIA GT2 de kar gaan trekken in 2010, de geknepen (en in veel gevallen gedowngrade) GT1's gaan de wereld over. Als ik de laatste koers in Zolder als basis neem dan ligt er nog veel werk in het verschiet voor SRO om FIA GT2 levensvatbaar te krijgen.

Stand van zaken laatste wedstrijd op Zolder: 12 wagens, 2 types wagens! Dat is geen basis om seizoen 2010 gezond mee te beginnen. Daar moeten zeker 2 tot 3 merken bijkomen en het aantal deelnemers zal toch minimaal 20 stuks moeten bedragen om het visueel aantrekkelijk te houden.

Waar gaat de groei vandaan komen? Welke fabrikanten?

Wat een dom idee om GT2 te downgraden naar een 'slechts' europees kampioenschap met een pro-am formule. Ik geloof dat we al zoiets hadden en dat het GT3 heet. De 24 uren van Spa worden hierbij ook gereduceerd tot een voorprogramma voor GT1... beetje zielig. Ook al zouden er BMW's of Corvettes aan de start komen.

qua visibiliteit is het wel een upgrade voor GT2.
toen ik zondag naar de wedstrijd keek op Exqui sport, leek het wel of ze slechts veldvulling waren. alle aandacht ging naar de strijd in GT1. ok, dat was een titelgevecht, maar daar ging het ook om in GT2. en dat werd maar terloops vermeld.

geef GT2 hun eigen kampioenschap, en de teams rijden niet meer anoniem rond.

wat wagens betreft: in Amerika heb je toch een mooi veld: Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Corvette, Aston Martin, Ford, Jaguar, Panoz. ok, die rijden misschien niet allemaal alle wedstrijden, maar als die in Europa zouden verkocht worden, kan je toch een mooi kampioenschap vormen?



al ben ik zelf een voorstander van het mixed-class racing type, en ben ik ook niet zeker of beide gesplitste kampioenschappen het lang gaan uithouden

Kessel Racing aan de start met 2 F430, mogelijkheid bestaat dat Peter/Bronisweski één v.d. piloten duo's zal worden.

Ook Trackspeed heeft onlangs z'n deelname bevestigd (1-2 auto's) samen met AF Corse/ Advanced Engineering (1-4 auto's...) op Speedweek.de
Op dezelfde site las ik ook dat Beechdean Motorsport 2 Aston Martin Vantage gaat inzetten volgend jaar.

IMSA en Trottet hebben volgens bepaalde bronnen al interesse getoond in Fia GT2 of de 24h van Spa.
Ten slotte staat CRS wss weer aan de start, net als Prospeed.

Dan toch geen BMW in het Europees kampioenschap? Enkel VLN en LMS blijkbaar.

Volgens sommigen gaat FIA GT2 volledig de mist in, en zou dit Ratel weinig kunnen schelen, omdat hij al zijn pijlen richt op GT1 en GT3. De enige topwedstrijd van het EK GT2, de 24h van Spa, vormt echter geen probleem omdat teams uit LMS, GT Open en nationale kampioenschappen het veld zullen versterken...

Ik zou zeggen laat Ratel zich bezighouden met GT1 en Europese GT3 en laat GT2 over aan het GT Open.
