Ex-Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve will return to sportscar racing in the inaugural City Challenge event on the streets of Baku in Azerbaijan next month.

The former Peugeot Le Mans 24 Hours driver, whose last sportscar start came at the wheel of a Mosler in the 2009 Spa 24 Hours, will race a Porsche 911 GT3-R on the Baku street circuit on October 6-7.

Villeneuve will share the car, which is likely to be fielded by the Muhlner Motorsport squad, with fellow grand prix veteran Jos Verstappen.

Wat betreft dit initiatief? Leuk idee maar wie is de financier? Na A1GP en Super League Formula moet je aardig diepe zakken hebben wil je in deze tijd iets nieuws opzetten.
