Door de fabrikant zelf aangepaste typenamen
Wie kent er nog voorbeelden waar de fabrikant de typebenaming van zijn wagen heeft aangepast (of dat beter gedaan had) wegens een ongelukkige verband?

Bijvoorbeeld, de Toyota MR2 noemt in Frankrijk gewoon MR

Ik ken er nog een paar maar ze schieten mij nu niet te binnen.

De VW Golf heet in Amerika sinds een tijdje weer VW Rabbit.

Is er ooit ook niet een nissan ofzo geweest die in een of andere taal de nissan "hoer" was?

Ik d8 dat het de Mitsubishi Pajero was. In Spanje heet ie Montero

Dat zijn gewoon twee verschillende merken.
In Zuid-Amerika heeft Chevrolet de naam van hun Nova wel veranderd, want 'no va' werd vertaald als 'gaat niet'.

En aan de andere kant van de aardbol in Japan had de Mitsubishi Starion eigenlijk Stallion moeten heten. Maar blijkbaar zat iemand teveel met de Aziatische-R moppen in zijn hoofd want hij maakte een R van de L.

de vento was hier eerst ook een jetta, toen een vento en toen een bora, toen was er niets meer (in Amerika wel) en nu is er terug de jetta.

Porsche had de bedoeling zijn eerste 911 (1964) eigenlijk 901 te noemen.
Peugeot kwam hiertegen in opstand en het werd dus 911.

Bleek dat Peugeot een patent had genomen op getallen met drie cijfers ... met een nul in het midden ...
