looking bad for Prost
Quote:

In the past few months several parties have submitted their interest in acquiring the Prost team to the Versailles court which is overseeing the company's administration status. However, formula1.com sources have alleged that the most likely fate today will be that the team faces liquidation as all buyers are apparently not willing to pay more than $0.20 on the dollar.
It would appear that the Italian group who were supposed to have had an interest in buying out the team, did not put down a deposit of around USD $20 million last Wednesday as stipulated by the court and therefore forfeited any possibility of acquiring the outfit. In addition, the consortium led by one of the members of the family that controls a stake in Belgian brewer Interbrew, Philip de Laey, has lost momentum as a result of lack of funding and this also seems to be the case with the bid put forth by Vector Motorsport boss, Marc Bourdeau. In one or both instances, the government of the province of Quebec had been approached to provide guarantees for loans to be used in purchasing the team but a final deal could not be agreed. At the same time, it also appears that the group of French businessmen who were to attempt the take over have not come up with a credible rescue plan and also had trouble with raising the necessary funding, despite the unsubstantiated rumour that it received help from Bernie Ecclestone. An announcement from the court is expected today.
