IRL kampioen Dario Franchitti per direct naar NASCAR!
Deze titel klopt niet helemaal Franchitti is kampioen in de IRL en laat de laatste wedstrijd van het ALMS seizoen voor het team van AGR aan zich voorbij gaan voor een testwedstrijdje in ASCAR, samen met ene Villeneuve.

Montoya naar Nascar? Villeneuve naar Nascar? Franchitti naar Nascar? Dan moet NASCAR de hemel zijn voor coureurs die kampioen zijn geworden in de hoogste regionen van de Formule klassen.

Logische stap voor Franchitti en het hing ook al een tijd in de lucht. In de IRL heeft ie niks meer te bewijzen en in de ALMS valt er niks te verdienen in tegenstelling tot Nascar.

Ben benieuwd hoe het voor hem zal verlopen...

Jeff Gordon en Kyle Busch waren alvast niet blij dat Gilles Villeneuve dit weekend zijn NEXTEL Cup debuut maakt op Talladega. Dat mocht van hen overal maar niet in "'Dega". Tja, kan jet het hen kwalijk nemen? Villeneuve heeft al een maar een Craftsman Truck Series race(je) achter de kiezen.

Ene Scott Speed lijkt ook hard op weg naar NASCAR. Daarnaast trekt men ook aan de mouwen van Danica Patrick. Ik verheug mij al op haar mogelijke "catfights" met Tony Stewart.

Ik ben het volledig eens met Gordon en Busch. Wie de reputatie van Dega kent zal wel weten waarom het een slecht idee is...

Hij deed het aardig tijdens de officiele test, maar ja de race is natuurlijk een ander verhaal. Hij kon het beter houden bij ARCA en de truck race.

Franchitti reed net de 20ste tijd in de eerste practice in de Arca Series. Hij eindigde één plekje achter onze eigenste Mad Max, die de 19de tijd reed.

Sinds wanner rijdt Gilles Villeneuve mee in de NASCAR ? Ik dacht toch dat die jaren geleden in Zolder veronglukt is .
Moet dat niet Jacques zijn ?

Scott Speed zal eerst een jaartje bush / trucks rijden voor Toyota, overstap naar de grote jongens in 2009. Bron? Artikel in Start.

Ik mag hopen dat hij Busch zal rijden.

Goed dat hij eerst wat ervaring wil opdoen vooraleer zich voor de leeuwen te gooien...

Sorry, het moest dus wel degelijk JACQUES Villeneuve zijn. Of eerder "Villenouf" zoals de Amerikanen hem noemen.

Trouwens, gisteren stond er dit artikel over Max Dumarey in het Nieuwsblad.

Max werd 10e in zijn eerste race op een superspeedway. Niet slecht, toch? Hij liet in ieder geval Dario Franchitti achter zich...

Zeker niet slecht. Een paar keren hing hij zelfs op de 5de plek.
Scott Speed liet zich ook zeker en vast opmerken tijdens de race.

Grappige was ook dat Dario via de radio redelijk basic questions moest vragen aan z'n crew tijdens de race. Zijn eerste stockcar race was dus echt een ware learning experience voor hem.
