RPC-stub programma
iedere keer als ik the sims vacation wil instaleren krijg ik de mededeling :incompatibel RPC-stub programma . Ik zou zeggen :HEEEEELLLLP

hier zitten nog wat mensen met hetzelfde probleem als gij.

Waarschijnlijk een probleem omdat de runtimes op uwe PC een beke ouder zijn dan diegene waarmee het spel gecompileerd is.

Probeer eens om deze file te installeren http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...vbrun60sp5.exe als het een beke wilt meezitten lukt het nu wel. If not, come back here.

RPC staat voor Remote Precision Call, een systeem waabij je een functie oproept op je pc die eigenlijk op een andere machine van het netwerk waarop je bent ingelogd/of het internet wordt uitgevoerd. De RPC bib zorgt dat de argumenten e.d. ongeschonden op de netwerkmachine aankomen en zorgt ook voor de ontvangst van het resultaat. Waarschijnlijk gebruikt dat programma zulke oproepen multiplayertoestanden te implementeren ofzo.

klopt niet volledig je verhaal BamBam

kijk eens eventjes hier en dan zie je dat het om remote procedure call gaat. Het zijn een aantal files onder de vorm van dll's geinstalleerd door windows die dan opgeroepen worden door allerlei applicaties. In dit geval de installer van the sims.

Die P moest inderdaad Procedure zijn, maar de uitleg was toch min of meer correct :
"RPC is a mechanism that enables data exchange and invocation of functionality residing in a different process. That different process can be on the same machine, on the local area network, or across the Internet"

T'is natuurlijk een ruim begrip en ik heb er alleen in C eventjes mee gewerkt (op gevloekt) dus niet de windows variant.

Kwou feitelijk gewoon efkes geleerd doen want buiten gij heeft er daar niemand iets van verstaan

tis da

in dit geval is de externe procedure dus een uitgevoerde DLL die in versie niet recent genoeg is voor de installer van The Sims.
