AutoGP
De AutoGP serie, vorig jaar nog te zien in Spa tijdens de Euro races (met Grosjean) heeft een verbintenis aangegaan met het WTCC. Races zullen tijdens het zelfde weekend gereden worden en dit voor de races in Europa plus Marrakech.
Van Zolder geen spoor.

2011 Auto GP Kalender

23-24 maart Barcelona test (E)
13-15 mei Monza (I)
3-5 juni Marrakech (MA)
17-19 juni Brno (CZ)
15-17 juli Donington (GB)
29-31 juli Oschesleben (D)
19-21 augustus Bucharest (RO)
2-4 september Valencia (E)

Ze hebben dus de wissel met formule 2 gedaan.

Dit staat te lezen in een bericht van de roeptoeters van ItaliaRacing.net:

"should not be included Zolder and Porto, it is not approved for that type of car"

Lijkt me nonsense. zolder is een FIA grade 2 circuit. Alles wat geen F1 is mag daar rijden.

Inderdaad, dan zouden de Super League ook niet mogen rijden op CZ, die zijn geloof nog sneller dan deze gepimpte A1GP wagens. In 2009 reed de AutoGP zelfs in het voorprogramma van de 24U.

Klopt allemaal, maar het wordt toch maar weer even zomaar in de media gepleurt!! Maar het blijft natuurlijk ook ItaliaRacing.net, hé!!

Trouwens Zolder not approved for that type of car: ze gaan wel in Bucharest een straat race rijden. Vraag me af hoe goed dat circuit is aangepast.

Campos Racing heeft zich ingeschreven voor volgend jaar. Een goed jaar geleden was Campos Racing, ex GP2 kampioen, nog één van de kandidaten voor een plekje in de Formule 1.

Campos was toch de oprichter van het team dat nu HRT heet?

Het Nederlands MP Motorsport, dat al jaren een team heeft in de Formule Renault 2.0, debuteert dit jaar in de Auto GP. Het team zal enkele testraces rijden met piloot aan huis Daniël de Jong. Volgend jaar zouden ze dan een volledig kampioenschap doen. De Jong rijdt tevens ook al in de Formule Renault 3.5.

Door het wegvallen van de WTCC race in Marrakech, vervalt ook de Auto GP race die op hetzelfde circuit voorzien was. Ook deze Auto GP race verhuist mee naar een ander circuit in Centraal Europa op dezelfde datum.
