The XD crew would like to wish everybody a great 2008.

We are struggling for finding the right locations. Raceway Venray is shut down and famous tracks as Zandvoort, Assen en Zolder dislike drifting. That's funny because they don't see drifting as a serieus kind of motorsport and actually they are right: drifting is fun, drifting is good to watch and never boring, you can watch drifting from one point of vieuw on the track so you can follow all the acton and drifting is not really a matter of budget, but more a matter of skills. So yes, drifting is no motorsport, it's FUN!

This is our 2008 Calendar:

XD Benelux, the official Benelux Championship
- tight technical regulations, check out the xd site
- driftlicence mandatory (min. Clubman)
- 5 wildcards per round
- a lot of tracktime, hard competition

- driftlicence mandatory
- soft technical regulations
- on a wet surface so you don't need a lot of horsepower or many tires
- Twin Drifting in poules, ideal for drifters with less Twin Drift experience
- al lot of tracktime, very cheap

XD wenst iedereen een gelukkig Nieuwjaar!

XD heeft moeite bij het vinden van de juiste locaties. En eigenlijk is dat indirect onze eigen schuld. Door het succes worden er steeds hogere eisen gesteld aan de locaties. Enerzijds moeten de locaties goede fasciliteiten hebben om gemiddeld 2500 tot 3500 toeschouwers goed te kunnen ontvangen en anderzijdse is de kwaliteit van de rijders en de driftauto's zo omhoog geschoten, dat een paddock of parkeerterrein niet meer het beste van rijder en auto naar boven kan halen. Raceway Venray is helaas gesloten en superlocaties als Assen, Zolder en Zandvoort vinden driften maar niks en verhuren bij gratie god een paddock. Op zich wel grappig, aangezien dergelijke locaties driften zien als geen serieuze autosport en daar hebben ze wel gelijk in. In tegenstelling tot de “normale” autosport is driften wel leuk om naar te kijken, kun je bij driften wel alle actie vanuit 1 gezichtspunt zien terwijl bij de traditionele vormen van autosport om de 2 minuten enkele auto’s voorbij komen en driften is geen kwestie van budget, maar skills. Dus inderdaad driften is geen autosport, maar FUN! Afijn, we zijn niet bij de pakken gaan neerzitten en presenteren daarom onze 2008 kalender:
