atlanta motor speedway getroffen door tornado

Quote:
Dear race fans and the NASCAR community,

On Wednesday evening, July 6, an F2 tornado, with winds of 150 m.p.h., hit the Atlanta Motor Speedway causing considerable damage to the speedway.

Our primary concern right now is executing a plan that will ensure a successful running of the Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 race weekend on October 28-30. We have an excellent team of professionals working around the clock to make this happen. Our promise is the fall race weekend will proceed with no discomfort to fans.

We will have a full slate of top-notch racing for the fall race weekend. Friday night, October 28, Georgia-Pacific Qualifying will be held under the lights and on Saturday, the EasyCare Vehicle Service Contracts 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and Crown Royal IROC Series will return to the speedway for what promises to be another exciting day of action. On Sunday, October 30, the Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 will play a crucial role in determining the 2005 NEXTEL Cup Champion.

There has been a tremendous out-pouring of care and concern for the speedway and its staff during this difficult time. We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. I can't tell you how this has energized our staff during these past few difficult days.

We look forward to hosting you for a great Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500 weekend.

Sincerely,

Ed Clark
President and General Manager
Atlanta Motor Speedway

Is dat die Speedway waar mensen appartementen kunnen kopen in de gebouwen boven de tribune?
