Mitsubishi heeft de Pajero nog wat verder geperfectioneerd: de brandstoftank bevindt zich nu onder de piloot en de wagen zou over "gull-wing" deuren beschikken.

Weight distribution has been improved through the re-positioning of the fuel tank and spare wheel holders and the MPR13 has a lower center of gravity.
