The World Touring Car Championship 2010 season is about to begin. While the series will be poorer in terms of works teams, interesting things are happening as far as independent entries are concerned. Double European Champion Michael Nykjaer has already been confirmed at the wheel of a Sunred Engineering SEAT Leòn TDi, and Tom Coronel is expected to join him in the Spanish team.

Gabriele Tarquini is trying to finance his 2010 campaign, after SEAT Sport had to withdraw as a works entrant for the coming season. Should the Italian manage to be on track in Curitiba, he'd most likely join SEAT Russia protegè Timur Sadredinov. The two cars would be managed by Sunred, though under a different banner.

With four Leòn TDi's likely to be used by Sunred Engineering, four more cars are available for sale from the downscaled SEAT Sport outfit. Zengo Motorsport with Norbert Michelisz, Exagon Engineering and former DTM team Kolles are interested in running the cars, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

On the BMW side, Adrian Campos Jr is going to test Proteam's 320si this weekend, and is rumoured to be very close to signing a deal with the Italian outfit
