Maar goed dat de nieuwe Astra snel is. Zo gaan we een zeer mooi gevecht zien om de titel tussen Muller en Plato en misschien ook Turkington als hij niet te veel in de fout gaat.

Maar een mager beestje dit jaar BTCC... Vorig jaar zag het er toch goed uit. Het vertrek van Honda heeft het kampioenschap geen goed gedaan. Ze mogen van geluk spreken dat Vauxhall en Seat elk 3 wagens inzetten.

De Seats zijn gewoon niet competitief t.o.v. van de wagens gebouwd naar het BTCC reglement :( Organisatie heeft het gewicht van ETCC/Super2000 te hoog gelegd, volgens de Seat rijders.

Het zou allemaal veel minder arbitair zijn als iedereen nu eens Super2000 wagens zou maken. Vorig jaar is het gewicht van de Seats ook een aantal keer aangepast tijdens het seizoen.

Team Dynamics baas Steve Neal heeft dan weer het volgende te zeggen:
“I think SEAT are already squirming a bit and complaining about their weight, but I just pointed out to Alan Gow that Jason [Plato] was carrying 1155 kilos here last September when he split Yvan [Muller] and James [Thompson]. He controlled that race, you were here and saw it, and he could have easily passed Yvan and won it with full weight on board. Today he is carrying 1140 kilos and he's moaning that he has too much weight. He's actually no quicker than he was last year and the tyres alone are worth seven tenths. He has new engines and new brakes, the only thing that is different is that they no longer have RML.”

Gow en co. hadden gewoon dit jaar volledig moeten overstappen naar S2000 regels. Nu hebben VXR en TD nieuwe wagens gebouwd volgens BTC regels, voor de rest niemand.

TOCA had het gewoon anders moeten aanpakken: toelaten dat BTCC spec wagens nog racen, maar er voor zorgen dat er geen nieuwe BTCC wagens meer bij gebouwd worden. Dan was het allemaal veel overzichtelijker geweest.
Inderdaad, bestaande BTC wagens toelaten, maar nieuwe wagens moeten S2000 wagens zijn. Op dit moment krijg ik meer de indruk dat het een BTC kampioenschap is waar S2000 wagens toegelaten worden. Het zou naar mijn mening sinds dit seizoen (of sinds vorig seizoen) net andersom moeten zijn.

Is de BTCC organisatie bang geweest dat Vauxhall zou stoppen als nieuwe BTC wagens geweigerd zouden worden? Ik zou zeggen dat Triple-Eight (team dat Vauxhalls runt) liever een S2000 wagen ontwikkeld zou hebben met het oog op de verkoop aan privateers of importeurs tbv STCC, WTCC, DPM, etcetera.

Overigens gaat het ook in Duitsland slecht met het DPM, het is de vraag of dat kampioenschap doorgaat. Enigste verschil met Engeland is dat je in Duitsland ook nog het DTM hebt.

TOCA gaat het minimum gewicht voor ETCC wagens met 40 kg verlagen. Benieuwd of dit de laatste aanpassing van het seizoen zal zijn.

in Thruxton heeft Dan Eaves met zijn Honda goede zaken gedaan ...
3 van de 3 races gewonnen :worship:
de seats waren deze race stuken sneller als in Donington
de vauxhall's tja hoe zal ik het zeggen.... de honda's waren beter !
ik heb race 2 en 3 al gezien en amaai race 3 wat een strijd.. !! tot op de laatste ronde vochten Turkington,Neal en Muller om de 2 laatste podiums plaatsen !! Nael probeerde Turkington's 2de plaats af te nemen maar werd zelf ingehaald (wel op de finishlijn) door muller :gas:

Goede keuze dus om over te stappen naar een ander model. Ook budgettair is het daar wel in orde. Ze verdienen nu reeds om volgend jaar fabriekssteun te krijgen.

Als ze in UK blijven rijden Honda UK uiteraard, dat is ook fabriekssteun. Ik hoop dat ze volgend jaar in Engeland volledig overschakelen op ETCC regels.

Colciago's teamgenoot Adriano De Micheli is privateer. Ik snap ook niet goed waarom Colciago niet als privateer wordt ingezet, want volgens mij krijgen ze geen ondersteuning van Honda.

Volgens mij had BTCC al afgesproken dat huidige regels t/m 2006 geldig zouden zijn.

Ze kunnen het ten opzichte van Vauxhall en Team Dynamics natuurlijk niet echt maken om ineens BTC wagens te gaan bannen.

plato lag eerste maar is gespint .. lag daarna 11de maar heeft nog de 10de plaats en dus ook de 1ste startplaats voor race 3 van smith kunnen afsnoepen !

De BTCC is gestart voor hun derde race. Momenteel rijdt het pak achter de SC. Muller, Williams, Turkington en nog iemand zijn er al uit. De twee laatste zitten in het grind, daarom is de SC erop. Williams en Muller hebben elkaar geraakt. door dit contact is de wiellager van Muller rechtsachter kapot.

Mooie race gezien. Heel mooie inhaalsrace van Plato die dan nog derde wordt. Neal wordt tweede en de eerste zijn naam ben ik al vergeten. Het was iemand van 20jaar :D

collard ligt al redelijk ver.. maja hij rijdt ook met een wage waarvan de fabrikant failliet is :+

Jason Plato has called on bitter Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship rival Yvan Muller to work with him to topple team-mates Matt Neal and Dan Eaves at Croft this weekend.

Briton Plato believes Muller is 'obsessed' with beating him to the detriment of the Frenchman's own championship hopes.

Currently, SEAT driver Plato is fourth in the standings and Muller third for Vauxhall. Neal and Eaves have won eight of the first 12 races to lead the standings in their Team Halfords Hondas.

Plato knows that Croft's three races this Sunday could prove crucial to his title hopes. He won twice there in 2004.

"I'd like to think Yvan and I could work together to catch Matt and Dan," said Plato, who was team-mate to Muller in 2001. "Yvan should be open-minded enough to realise I'm not enemy number one – it's the two Hondas – but I don't think he thinks like that.

"Yes, we both want to win as much as each other. I'm hard but fair on the track, but I ain't no thug, whereas Yvan will try stuffing me at any given opportunity."

Plato went off the track in a collision with Muller in the previous round at Oulton Park and before that there had been two controversial incidents between them at Thruxton.

Their rivalry dates back to 2001 when they fell out as Vauxhall team-mates fighting for the title – a fight that Plato ultimately won.

Plato added: "I'm told there was a huge roar of laughter and clapping in the Vauxhall pit when I went off at Oulton and that's just wrong. I've clearly got under their skin.

"Yvan and Vauxhall seem to have an obsession with beating me and they need to stop it or they're going to look silly in front of everyone."

in race 2 weer een vauxhall dubbel.. !! :applaus:
dit keer muller voor turkington.. chilton met zijn civic 3de,collard met zijn mg 4de, kaye ook met een civic 5de en neal 6de..
de 2 halfords hondas hebben beide last gehad van een wilde seat met ene plao achter het stuur..aan neal werd in de beginfase van de race een tik uitgedeeld waarna hij fel terug viel.. en eaves ging er samen met plato of .. uiteindelijk werd eaves nog 10de dus zal hij vanaf de pole mogen starte..
een mooie race kunnen zien in afwachting op de dtm ,thx motors tv :worship:

Plato deed na vorig weekend nog maar eens zijn beklag over het feit dat de Super2000 wagens benadeeld zijn t.o.v. BTCC wagens.

With the regulations leaning away from SEAT this year, Plato was particularly discouraged by the Toledo's lack of pace at Croft despite it being his home circuit, sighting the BTCC spec cars as having a distinct advantage over the S2000 specification car.

"In order for us to be quick we need to get the most out of the tyres and after the first three laps they lose their grip," he told Crash.net. "Therefore after that we are relying on engine power, aerodynamics and mechanical grip and in every single area the BTCC spec car is better than us through the regulations. It has more power, it has better aerodynamics, it has more mechanical grip so we can only compete when the tyres are new. We are so lacklustre – we just cannot overtake.

"Once our performance goes away, we can't challenge. We are doing our best to keep up with people but we lose five car lengths down the straight. It's frustrating, but we have to abide by the rules."

Plato has been especially despondent about the weight problems that have blighted the team's development this year. Indeed, the Toledo has always been heavier than its BTCC rivals but with the likes of Vauxhall and Honda wiping off some of their excess ballast from last year, SEAT are at an even bigger disadvantage than before.

Ze zouden het reglement om moeten draaien: Een S2000 kampioenschap waar BTC wagens toegelaten worden ipv een BTC kampioenschap waar S2000 wagens worden toegelaten. Of ze hadden de eis moeten stellen dan nieuwe wagens (zoals de Vauxhall, Honda en Lexus) enkel nog volgens S2000 reglement mogen zijn. Bestaande wagens volgens BTC reglement zouden gewoon toegelaten zijn.

Maar het probleem is natuurlijk dat enkele jaren geleden afgesproken is dat het reglement een x-aantal jaren geldig is. Door het tussentijds veranderen van het reglement was men denk ik bang dat Vauxhall en Dynamics (Honda) af zouden haken.

muller,plato en pickford hebben een penalty gekregen omdat ze hun banden te laat op de grid hebben vervangen.. ze hebbe wel een moie strijd geleverd voor plaats 10 (de pole voor race3).. tot smith eraf ging.. :( toen zaten ze alle 3 in de top 10
muller is nog in de aanval gegeaan tot plaats 6 niet erg veel aan race 3 gedacht... :confused:

maja nu terug verder formule 1 kijke.. het schijnt dat het spannend is :eek:

de 'tegenvallende' prestaties van da halfords wagens zijn met dank aan plato... :fight:

in het kamioenschap gaat muller goed vooruit en neal blijft de leiding behouden.. ook al zijn het nog maar 13 punten wat hij voorsprong heeft op muller..
ook bij turkington begint het vooruit te gaan.. nu nog een paar punte en hij heeft plato :eek:
het gaat nog spannend worden dit jaar volgens mij

verder weer 3 mooie races gezien met pctv :applaus:

plato was in gevecht met eaves.. op de oet gevolgd door neal.. eerst tikt plato tegen eaves.. waardoor neal aan de binnekant van de bocht zat.. maar neal ging uit de bocht en nam plato met zich mee.. zeer teleurstellend voor seat zij hadde namelijk de eerste rij voor race 3

de eerste 5 ronde van race 3 heb ik gemist :( daardoor heb ik niet kunne zien wat met pickford en hines is gebeurt...
De commentaar van Luke Hines over race 3 zegt, denk ik, genoeg: “It’s been a hard weekend and the damage caused in that last race must have cost teams a small fortune. I only counted three cars out of the sixteen that looked reasonably clean; it must have been like watching a demolition derby."

Beide wagens zijn blijkbaar aangetikt.
By then both James Pickford and Luke Hines had also retired from the race. Starting from 2nd on the grid, Collard collided into James on lap two breaking his steering.

Luke made a good start and was battling hard before he was hit from behind and spun into a gravel trap on lap four.

Plato maakt nog maar eens van de gelegenheid gebruik om zijn beklag te doen over het reglement :o
We can’t forget however that we won that race because we had three cars starting at the front of the grid and we were only up there because we played the reverse grid card. We just don’t have the pace to compete with the BTCC spec. cars as they are far too light. We’re about half a second a lap off where we need to be, and that’s not us it’s the regulations I’m afraid, so we’re still going to go to the next race with our hands tied behind our backs unless something changes.

In het BTCC verdienen coureurs als Jason Plato en Yvan Muller waarschijnlijk een aardige boterham, echter het middelpunt van het huidige Europese toerwagen racen is natuurlijk het WTCC. Kan me best voorstellen dat die mannen daar ook willen racen (zeker wat betreft Plato ivm het S2000/BTC reglement gedoe).

BTCC organisatie had er beter voor gezorgd dat het interessanter was om een nieuwe wagens volgens het Super2000 reglement te bouwen i.p.v. het BTCC reglement. Dan hadden we nu een nieuwe Astra en Honda Integra gehad volgens het S2000 reglemen en waren ze bij Seat Sport UK wat gelukkiger.

Ja Knockhill, maar een tweetal km lang, maar ongelooflijk spectaculair, met bijna altijd die zware regen :worship:

En dan denk je dat je alles gezien hebt, kom je bij minuut 7.00 van het filmpje... Absurde racerij!!! :gas: :eek: :worship: Prachtwerk!

Ik vind btcc helemaal geweldig! duwen en trekken en niemand die dr over wakker ligt.
Geen gezeur over tikje hier of daar gewoon racen zoals racen bedoeld is.
het komt mij voor dat de regels in GB niet zo stringent worden gehanteerd als hier op het vaste land alwaar je na het laten van een wind in je auto al een stop en go krijgt.
Grote klasse daar over het Kanaal en gelukkig heb ik Motors TV!! hehe

geen gezeur? na iedere race in autosport: muller zoveel punten aftrek op zijn licentie, plato zoveel punten, ... :)

Achteraf gezeur over punten op de licentie is lang niet zo erg als die kleinzerige lulletjes rozewater die de wedstrijleiding in handen hebben bij het wtcc en al helemaal bij de dtm. Ik ben het helemaal met Vortex eens :)

Er zijn toch wel een paar situaties in het filmpje die imho toch wel te ver gaan. Een paar keer wordt er echt moedwillig op de bumper van de voorligger geremd in de hoop dat die eraf zal gaan...

de strijd om de titel is zo goed als beslist.. 99% dat Matt Neal BTCC kampioen 2005 wordt !
vandaag heeft hij zijn voorsprong tot 40 punten kunnen uitbereiden !! yvan muller heeft net als vorige keer weer een race moeten opgeven met mechanische pech.. en dat voor vauxhall het merk wat de afgelope jaren zo heeft gedomineert :o
maarja toch een dikke proficiat aan het dynamics team en Matt Neal zelf !!!

Ik lees op 10/10 forum dat er ernstige indicaties zijn dat Seat volgend jaar niet zal deelnemen aan BTCC (zij zijn het gedoe over minimumgewicht volledig beu). Al het personeel van Northern South, die het Seat Sport UK team runt, zitten vanaf vrijdag zonder werk.

Seat komt misschien terug in 2007 als het S2000 reglement volledig in voege getreden is.

een mooie prestatie voor neal!! als privateer kampioen worden :eek:

dan 2006.
volgend jaar gaat team halfords met de honda's rijden wat nu door jas worden ingezet heb ik gehoort.. te hopen worde de integra's waar ze dit mee rijden dan verkocht aan een ander team ofzo.. ook zou het mooi zijn de civics terug te zien in 2006 !
verder zal vauxhall waarschijnlijk door blijven gaan met de astra gtc.. (ook al vind ik dat ze tegen 2006 de astra twinwtop een betere keuze lijkt !)
seat hoop ik dat verder blijft doen en het liefst met leon's :cool: oftewel mag plato terug naar vauxhall komen :cool:
verder komt kia ook nog mee doen in 2006.. (lijken mij gewoon maar wat 'veld opvullers' )
en ik meende ook nog gelezen te hebben dat xero 2 is200 tjes ging inzette..
ook de MG van rob collard wil ik terug zien in 2006 ... maarja het is nu gewoon wachten op de berichten van de teams en merken .. (pff wat haat ik het einde van het seizoen :( )
